Library Foundation Meeting

Open to the public

Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

March 7

The Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization whose purpose is to help support the Hammond Public Library.

The Foundation’s goal is to provide resources and funding assistance to the Hammond Public Library. The Library provides new technologies, literary works, and programming that is both interesting and educational. Much of what the Library wishes to accomplish cannot be provided for through its normal operating budget. In order to provide outstanding services, the Library and the Foundation require a steady supply of volunteers and monetary donations.

The Hammond Public Library was founded in 1903 and is Lake County Indiana’s first and oldest public library. Throughout its existence, it has been a central part of everyday life in the city of Hammond and the neighboring communities.

The purpose of the Hammond Public Library Foundation is to promote the development, expansion, and improvement of the Hammond Public Library facilities, services, and materials and to aid and assist in all facets of Hammond Public Library operations; and for other charitable and educational purposes.
