Friends of the Library

Friends of the Hammond Public Library staff a Book Sale Room

and snack area at the Library, 564 State St. The room is open during library hours.

Everyone — especially libraries — could always use another friend! Won't you become a Friend?

By joining the Friends of the Library, you play an important role in library service to the community:

  • Friends raise funds for projects and programs that the library would otherwise be unable to provide.
  • They lend support to legislative activities when needed.
  • They help in the Book Sale Room, and at many programs.
  • They are library "boosters" in the community.

The Friends board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. Friends members may attend.
