The Hammond Public Library, in partnership with Purdue University Calumet, is a Depository Library for the United States Government. As part of the Federal Depository Library Program, HPL is one of a few libraries in the State of Indiana with this distinction. The purpose of the FDLP is to disseminate government information. The access to our government's documents through FDLP reflects our country's democratic system and open government.
