Times Obituary Indexes

Thanks to the efforts of staff and volunteers, Hammond Public Library is indexing obituaries appearing in the Times newspaper. The date that appears in the index is the date of the first appearance of the obituary, not necessarily the death date. More years will appear as they are indexed. Because there were various editions of the newspaper and no formal "obituary column", some names may have been omitted during indexing; however every attempt has been made to include all names. To obtain a copy of the obituary, come in to the Main Library and view the microfilm or to obtain by mail, fill out the request page (found here) and print. Send your request (all information from the index) with a self-addressed stamped envelope and $5.00 per obituary to:
