Youth Program Information

Program note: Any outside organization that is interested in bringing children to the library for a program, please contact the Head of Youth Services at (219) 931-5100, ext. 330 to set up a visit. Youth Winter Reading Program

February is National Library Lovers' Month, and we are asking children to show their love for us by reading their heart out! During the month of February, children through the age of 13 can participate in Youth Services Winter Reading Program. "Read your ♥ Out." Children can sign up for the program in Youth Services. Once they are singed up, they simply have to read three books to be entered into a drawing for a prize basket. they can enter the drawing for every three books they read throughout February. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for their support.

February 1 at 4:00 p.m.: The BFG. If you met a giant, would you be afraid? Join us to see how Sophie becomes friends with a big, friendly giant.

Just For Tweens

February 22: Test your knowledge with African American trivia! Prizes will be awarded.

Histories for Kids Family Program

Actor Terry Lynch will give a lively presentation about the Underground Railroad and safe houses that were used in our area. This program is appropriate for children in grade 3 and above. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for their support.

Sensory Storytime

This storytime is designed for children on the spectrum or for children who have sensory challenges. We will combine books, songs, and movement to stimulate all senses. This program will be limited to the first 10 children and their caregiver.
